David Harrison

Throughout his tenure as President of Columbus State Community College, David Harrison has consistently led the charge to reshape what access and opportunity look like for more than 40,000 students each year. His focus on student success, workforce development, and community impact has led to bold collaborations with schools, employers, and agencies to build innovative career pathways and drive equitable outcomes — earning national recognition and tripling graduation rates along the way.

In his Change Makers session, David dove into how higher education can spark growth and lasting transformation, both on campus and beyond. He discussed how Columbus State works side-by-side with partners to help students discover and pursue careers they didn't even know existed, and how these real-world models create talent strategies that benefit companies and communities alike.
